My name is Patricia J T. Yusingco. People call me Pat or Patrice but my close friends insist on calling me Patis, so I let them. I've been living in the playful streets of Metro Manila for sixteen years already. I blow out candles every 27th of March and I am a college freshman taking up BS Pharmacy in the royal and pontifical University of Santo Tomas. I am a Filipino, yes, loud and proud, albeit all the hostage crises criticisms and the world's corrupt countries' ranking. I'm also of Chinese descent, my father's father is a full China-man! kind of cool but I didn't get to see him and most of my grandparents for that matter. (all have been dead long before I was conceived except for my mom's mother)
I consider my height and weight average, over 5 feet and I'm-not-sure inches and a little over a hundred pounds. My hair has a mind of its own, it's black in sheer darkness but brownish in direct sunlight, although I've been planning to dye them. I got few strands of white hair, thus, evidence of my ceaseless stressing out. I'd like to think I can write but I just do it for leisure, and I do it to make sense of things that sometimes end up having no sense at all. I would love to write professionally, like as a career in the future, but I have yet to achieve that. I'm a self proclaimed bibliophile, I like books as a whole. I also love it when books have movie adaptations. Thought Catalog inspires me to write and read.
I dig hiphop and bboy. I have a thing for people who dance well. Listening to music gives me a sense of good vibes for the day ahead. If my ipod was not stolen, it'll probably crash by now from all songs I could have downloaded in there. I try to appreciate all kinds of music but my ears can't seem to handle the hardcore metal screaming type. Scouting for good old music from way back movie soundtracks makes me happy- that is aside from finishing a book and finally opening a new one AND smelling it.
My brain can't stop from having a conversation with itself. You see? daydreaming and talking to myself are some of my hobbies.
I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life that's why when I grow up, I want to be a magazine editor. I also want to be a court side reporter, a film critic/analyst, a wildlife filmmaker, tour guide in Italy, an interior designer, corporate lawyer, forensic expert, barista at Starbucks, family doctor, and a triathlete, although I think what I really need for now is a long enough attention span to get through school. I am as ambitious as anyone can be.
